Complete Examination

It is our mission to examine your entire mouth and evaluate all conditions. A complete examination includes a close visual look at your teeth supported by digital radiographs (xrays), which have 90% less radiation than regular xrays. Also your cheeks, lips, lymph nodes, the roof of your mouth and muscles in your jaw area are evaluated.  We can also perform an Oral Cancer Screening with Viza-Lite.  Our intra-oral camera will take images of your teeth and gums, and our 65mm still camera is used for facial shots. We can look at these pictures together on our computer monitor.

Some of the many things we check your teeth for are: wear from uneven bites , abrasions, small cracks, old/broken fillings that may be hiding decay, and ill fitting crowns and bridges.

We examine your gums for the signs of periodontal disease.  To do this we gently measure down the side of each tooth to check if the tooth is properly attached to the gum.  Sepration of the tooth from the gum and bleeding of the gum (with or without discomfort or pain) are signs periodontal (gum) disease.
