Gum problems, or periodontal disease
is the number one dental problem for adults today! But now we can use the dental laser as an adjunct in treating treat early stage gum problems, preventing painful dental extractions or gum surgery.
The dental laser uses an intense beam of light to specifically pinpoint your problem dental areas. The diode laser vaporizes and coagulates at the same time, thereby facilitating immediate hemostasis, less tissue charring, less postoperative healing time and fewer post-operative complications including less chance of infection. The beam of light is intense enough to reach deep gingival pockets that harbor harmful bacteria which cause gum disease. The laser also promotes healing of infected and irritated tissues. An additional benefit of dental laser technology is its ability to reduce the pain and longevity of cold sores and fever blisters. Sutures are rarely needed after lasering and many soft tissue procedures around the gingival can be completed comfortably without anesthesia for greater patient acceptance and comfort. |
